Project summary

ADM provided hands-on engineering consultancy for an evaporator replacement. This involved FEA backed certification to AS1210, engineering support for heavy installation lifts, and lift studies. Following the successful installation of this vessel, ADM then provided the same service for Evaporators No. 4 and No. 5.

Project details

In 2021, Wilmar needed a replacement for their No.2 Evaporator in Kalamia Mill. ADM was asked to provide engineer support for the design, fabrication, and erection of the new evaporator by certifying the vessel and providing engineer advice on key stages of the replacement.

How ADM approached the project

ADM provided engineering consultancy during the life of the entire project. First, ADM examined the evaporator design by checking it to relevant standards, conducting design calculations, and implementing FEA. ADM then certified the finalised design and provided further advice during the construction and installation of the evaporator.

The results

ADM delivered on personalised engineer support for the successful replacement of the evaporator at Kalamia Mill. Following the successful installation of this vessel, ADM then delivered the same service for Evaporators No. 4 and No. 5. ADM’s support was provided at all stages of these projects, and ADM can continue to offer their mechanical engineering services for the life of the evaporators.
